Data Copilot

Ask the plant.

“Why did energy rise on EAF-2 this week?”“Which grades generated the most rework?”“Which assets are becoming maintenance risks?”“Show me the last 20 heats outside the chemistry target.”

Data Copilot connects operational information across the plant and turns questions into traceable answers, trends, reports and decisions.

One question, not six applications.

Five systems, one answer, sources named.

ERP MES LIMS SCADA Copilots Data Copilot one operating view Answer sources: MES · LIMS · Recipe Copilot

No export, no reconciliation, no Friday deadline. Every answer carries the systems and heats it came from.

"How healthy is the melt shop this week?"

One view of yield, energy per tonne, off-spec rate, downtime and open deviations, against the baseline.

"How many breakdowns on EAF-2 this quarter?"

Breakdown history by asset, cause and duration, with the cost of each stoppage attached.

"Which grades are losing us the most alloy cost?"

Ranked by leakage, with the heats behind each number one tap away.

"Build the monthly compliance pack."

Emissions telemetry, deviations, approvals and audit trail assembled into the format your framework expects.

"What is likely to fail next?"

Predictive maintenance signals from Furnace Copilot, ranked by risk and remaining useful life.

Four things it does that a dashboard does not.

A BI dashboard shows you what you already thought to chart. A copilot answers the question you actually have — and knows what the plant decided.

1

Answers in plain language

Ask the way you would ask a colleague. No query builder, no report request queue, no waiting for the analyst.

2

Builds the dashboard as it answers

Every answer comes with the chart, the table and the heats behind it — keep it as a live tile if it is worth watching.

3

Cites its sources

Which system, which heats, which sample. If leadership questions a number, the trail is already attached.

4

Knows the decisions, not just the data

It reads the decision layer: what was recommended, what was approved or overridden, and the reason code.

Built for the people who have to answer for the plant.

The same underlying data, shaped for whoever is asking.

Plant manager

Health of the plant, by area and by shift, without opening a single other system.

Operations head

Where the breakdowns are, what they cost, and what is trending toward the next one.

Quality & compliance

Deviations, approvals, audit trail and the reporting pack, generated rather than compiled.

Maintenance

Asset history, fatigue and remaining useful life, ranked by what to touch first.

Leadership

Cost leakage, saleable output and the ROI of every copilot, from production records.

It connects to everything, because the platform already does.

Data Copilot is not a new integration project. It reads the same operating view Recipe Copilot and Furnace Copilot run on, so on day one it can already see your systems.

Questions we get asked

Plant reporting and analytics, answered.

What plant managers, quality teams and leadership ask about conversational plant analytics.

What is Data Copilot?

Data Copilot is a chat and dashboard layer over every plant system. It connects ERP, MES, LIMS, SCADA, inventory, QMS, maintenance data and the SmeltIQ decision layer, then answers plain-language questions with traceable answers, trends, reports and compliance packs — naming the systems and heats each answer came from.

Can I ask questions about my plant in plain language?

Yes. Typical questions include why yield fell on a given grade, why energy rose on a specific furnace, which grades generate the most rework, how many breakdowns occurred on an asset this quarter, which assets are becoming maintenance risks, and which heats closed outside the chemistry target. Each answer includes ranked contributing factors and its sources.

How is this different from Power BI or a data warehouse?

A BI tool charts what someone configured in advance and reports on data at rest. Data Copilot answers the question actually being asked, assembles the context across systems on request, and — because it shares a platform with Recipe Copilot and Furnace Copilot — can answer questions no BI tool can: what the copilot recommended, what the operator did instead, and what that difference cost.

Can it generate compliance and ESG reports?

Yes. Emissions telemetry, deviations, approvals, audit trail and energy intensity by grade can be assembled into the format your framework expects, including SASB, CDP, UN SDGs, ISO and SBTi, plus internal audit packs. Reports can run on a schedule or on request.

Does it require a new integration project?

No. Data Copilot reads the same operating view the other copilots run on, so once the platform is connected it can see your systems on day one.

Stop compiling reports. Start asking.
