What is Data Copilot?
Data Copilot is a chat and dashboard layer over every plant system. It connects ERP, MES, LIMS, SCADA, inventory, QMS, maintenance data and the SmeltIQ decision layer, then answers plain-language questions with traceable answers, trends, reports and compliance packs — naming the systems and heats each answer came from.
Can I ask questions about my plant in plain language?
Yes. Typical questions include why yield fell on a given grade, why energy rose on a specific furnace, which grades generate the most rework, how many breakdowns occurred on an asset this quarter, which assets are becoming maintenance risks, and which heats closed outside the chemistry target. Each answer includes ranked contributing factors and its sources.
How is this different from Power BI or a data warehouse?
A BI tool charts what someone configured in advance and reports on data at rest. Data Copilot answers the question actually being asked, assembles the context across systems on request, and — because it shares a platform with Recipe Copilot and Furnace Copilot — can answer questions no BI tool can: what the copilot recommended, what the operator did instead, and what that difference cost.
Can it generate compliance and ESG reports?
Yes. Emissions telemetry, deviations, approvals, audit trail and energy intensity by grade can be assembled into the format your framework expects, including SASB, CDP, UN SDGs, ISO and SBTi, plus internal audit packs. Reports can run on a schedule or on request.
Does it require a new integration project?
